Hello! My name is Marsi Richardson and I am passionate about learning, reading, writing, and creating opportunities for everything and anything literacy-related for my students. On one end of the spectrum, I will help a struggling child or adult crack the code for reading, writing, and spelling through a structured literacy, systematic, explicit, evidence-based intervention approach. Further down the educational road, I will walk high school juniors and seniors confidently through the college application process. My services are characterized by personalized attention, intuitive flexibility, and careful, deep, knowledgeable practice. In my early adulthood, I received a BA in Communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara, worked in the Student Life department at Westmont College, completed a Masters in Education degree, California Teaching Credential, and CLAD certificate at UCSB. Recently, I've completed an Education, Specialist degree in Reading from Gordon College. I am also a Certified Barton Reading and Spelling tutor, a Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) Dyslexia Interventionist, am certified in the Orton-Gillingham approach, and am a licensed Reading Specialist. I believe in life-long learning and hope to help your student cross whatever literacy bridge will bring them to flourish as they pursue their goals and LEVEL-UP!
